Spring Break

First things first. Sorry for the long silence in between blog posts. Honestly, I haven't had anything too exciting to write about these days. I don't want to bore you. :)

March has come and almost gone, and our family has enjoyed our schedule getting back to normal. Regular pre-school schedule, and our normal night time gym routine has been back in full swing. It seemed like the entire month of February was pure craziness with the snow, sickness, and bad weather.

Speaking of weather...we have been enjoying every second of warm weather that we have had over the last couple of weeks. Going for walks, playing on the playground, and grilling out have been some favorite things to do recently. It is absolutely amazing what sunshine and fresh air will do for your soul. I think Ethan agrees...

This week Ethan's preschool has been on spring break. On Monday we went to the Museum of Life and Science with Sam and Izzy. The kids had a blast- and best of all they seemed to entertain themselves quite well. Then on Wednesday since the weather wasn't too great, we took the kids to the bounce house. And today we had a play date over here (since again the weather was terrible) and made a special snack (thank you Haley for this idea). On the in between days, Ethan was a trooper and ran the necessary errands with mommy.

At the museum looking at the fish (sorry I didn't get many pictures at the museum this time. I was too busy chasing him around!)

Making a special snack together. A perfect activity for toddlers.

Unwrapping the Hershey foils seemed to be a hit.

It's simple. Pretzel, with a Hershey Hug on top. Bake at 250 for a few minutes until melted. Then add an M&M on top.

It's the perfect blend of sweet and salty!

We will be venturing to the beach next weekend for Easter with my family. We are praying for warm weather so we can at least go play in the sand!

With Easter coming (and Ethan's first attempt at decorating Easter eggs) I will have plenty to blog about. But until then, I hope you enjoy this little throwback I've got in store for you. I certainly makes my heart melt! Happy Friday everyone!

Ethan's 3rd Birthday

It's so hard to believe that Ethan is three.

I guess this time around I'll save you from my sappy mom stories about how much I love him, and how quickly time passes. Even though I really want to...

Since Friday February 20th was Ethan's actual birthday, we allowed him to pick a special place to eat dinner. Of course, he picked Chickfila (can't say I really blame him!) and Dairy Queen for ice cream after. During the day, I took him to Toys R Us and allowed him to pick out one toy. He thought that was pretty cool, since this doesn't normally happen.

We decided to have Ethan's 3rd birthday party at his new favorite spot, "Big E Bounce." If you couldn't guess its a bounce house for kids...named appropriately don't you think? :) I especially love this place because it's very clean, and they separate toddlers from big kids. It's very safe, and isn't usually too crowded.

The kids arrived at 10am and bounced until 11:30. At 11:30, we reserved a room for lunch, cupcakes, and gifts. Then, sent the kids home just in time for good, long naps. You're welcome. :)

Thomas the Train theme of course!

I took wooden train track from Ethan's playroom to decorate the table.

I made place mats out of construction paper and had them laminated.

Each child got to take home a bucket filled with some of Ethan's favorite snacks.

I used Harris Teeter for Ethan's cupcake cake. I'm not into baking- so this is usually the route I go. Inexpensive, good, and cute design. Oh, and EASY.

We had a total of 24 guests. 7 kids in total.

Perfect shot!

I think it's safe to say that Ethan and Brooks enjoyed their cupcakes. Don't you??

A walk down memory lane...and a look at how Ethan has changed and grown over the last 3 years...

As Ethan grows, I am really excited about what the next year will bring for us.

With everything that has happened this year, I find myself especially thankful that God has blessed us with the gift of such a special little person. Our hearts cannot hold all the joy that you bring to our lives!
