30 Weeks

This past Thursday marked the 30 week mark in my pregnancy. So, as of today, I am 30 weeks and 4 days. The last 8 weeks or so have flown by. It's hard to believe we are getting so close.

So, how am I feeling? Actually, not too bad. Aside from some hip and low back pain, and bad reflux, I really can't complain. I never really felt energized at all through out this pregnancy, and that hasn't changed. I could drop to the couch and nap like a pro at any time of the day. But, we all know with a 3 year old, that only happens at nap time...if he decides to nap. The nausea does still come and go, but I think this is mostly related to my bad reflux disorder. I have to be very careful about what I eat, and how much.

Sadly, my days at the gym had to come to an end. As much as I love a good work out, it was becoming too uncomfortable for me. Since this baby is so low, the weight on my groin and low back area is just too much. I gave it my all until about the 7 month mark when I had to stop. Overall, I am proud of myself for keeping a large amount of weight off, and keeping fit/healthy as best I can. I have gained far less weight than I did with Ethan, and hope to continue that trend until the end. I have to brag on myself for a minute...I didn't gain ONE single pound over the holidays. Not sure how that happened, but it happened!

I don't crave much these days except fresh fruit, soda, and sweet tea. Sometimes, I will crave ice cream or a Wendy's frosty from time to time, but haven't given into those cravings as much as I would have liked.

We have worked hard on baby's room over the holiday break. It is coming along great, and I am loving it. Once it is finished, I will be sure to share it with you.

We scheduled our C section for early morning on March 10th. As the date approaches I have mixed feelings. I feel like I have become more emotional knowing that we are getting so close. I am trying to savor my one on one time with Ethan, really trying to not take time with him for granted. On the other hand, he is SO excited about meeting his brother. The other day, he asked if baby could join us for dinner. :) I am also nervous about the upcoming change, and how I will deal with it. History proves I don't generally deal with change well.

Evan has been the biggest help to me around the house. As soon as he gets home from work he takes over. Entertains Ethan, gets him ready for bed, and helps me with dinner. On the weekends he will take Ethan places to give me a break. and lets me sleep in as much as he can. He is the best.

I hope I can continue to feel good over the next several weeks. I certainly am looking forward to seeing this little guys face!

Merry, Happy!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Well, Merry Christmas late...since I haven't blogged since the week before Christmas.

I cannot believe it is 2016. Crazy. The holiday season flew by, as I knew it would. Now, I feel like I can really focus on the arrival of baby B, due in 9 weeks. I go for my 30 week check up tomorrow.

Here is a quick re-cap on our Christmas and New Year.

This year was fun. Ethan really got into the whole "Santa" thing. He loved the "Elf on the Shelf", and everything fun that went along with the season. It certainly makes the holiday more magical when you have a child...but more exhausting too. :) A LOT more exhausting.

As usual, we spent our Christmas Eve with Evan's family, and Christmas Day with mine.

At Evan's moms, Ethan is opening up his favorite gift of the day. The Paw Patroler. He was really into Paw Patrol this year.

After a full day of gifts, food, and games at Evan's moms, we came home and got Ethan to bed as quickly as we could. Once asleep, we got out all of his gifts, and stuffed his stocking. Evan's dad came over and set up an awesome remote control train for Ethan to have Christmas morning. Evan and I didn't get much sleep that night, and then little one was up at 6:30am. He was very excited saying "I heard Santa's bells!". He loved what he saw when he came down that morning.

After opening his gifts, we packed up and went over to my mom and dads in our Christmas jammies of course (its tradition!). We all enjoyed breakfast together before starting gifts. Gifts at my mom and dads usually takes a few hours.

Ethan got a dress up doctor set that he loved.

A family game of Hungry Hungry Hippos! Another one of Ethan's gifts.

The biggest and best surprise of the day came later that afternoon. Evan came to me and said " I need help with something. Can you come outside for a minute?" I walk out to this...

I could not believe my eyes. I didn't even know what to say. A brand new 2015 Chevy Traverse. It is gorgeous, and everything I would have wanted in a car. Evan has been working on this surprise for a long time...since summer to be exact. When he finally found what he wanted, he bought the car back in November, and had been hiding it at a friends house. Every time I get in my new car, I am reminded of how much I am loved, and how blessed I am. I love it!!!

When we all got back to our house that evening, we were all exhausted including my no-nap taking 3 year old. Evan and I literally threw everything in the living room in a heaping pile, and crashed at 8:30.

New Years wasn't much different. A nice quiet night at home- and no one stayed up to ring in the new year....until we were all rudely awoken to house shaking fire works at 12:01am. That wasn't much appreciated. My son will tell you how much he enjoyed being woken up by that loud noise.

That just about sums up our holiday. I am so thankful that we are back on a regular schedule, Christmas is put away, and Ethan is back in school! Did I mention how thankful I am for preschool and those amazing teachers???

Hope everyone's new year is off to a great start!
